A story about a community is not community consent
Permission to record is not automatically permission to publish, translate, commercialise or train a model.
Say what was requested, from whom, for which use, and what the source asked to keep private. Consent is specific.

A local archive interview is not necessarily permission for global publication. Explain future use in plain language and allow a penalty-free refusal.

Do not turn restricted knowledge into colour
If a source says a detail is not for publication, leave it out. Finding another person willing to repeat it does not solve the permission problem.

Let people correct the public record
A visible correction route and clear attribution help readers distinguish an editorial update from a change in the evidence.
Questions visitors ask
Can a public event be photographed freely?
Public visibility is not blanket permission for every use. Ask about people, children, ceremony and publication.
Why record limits?
They tell readers what the record does not claim and stop missing permission becoming apparent evidence.
